City Of Richmond Cupe Collective Agreement

CUPE Locals 718 and 394 ratified the agreement with their members on 27 and 19 February respectively. The new collective agreement offers more than just wage increases. There will also be improved health benefits, training and structures for work leave. Richmond City Council has approved a new four-year collective agreement with The Union of Public Employees of Canada (CUPE) Premises 718 and 394, which represent the City`s internal and external workers. The new agreement guarantees wage increases of 9.25 percent over four years, divided into a 2.00 percent increase this year, then 2.25 percent next year and 2.50 percent increases for one year out of three and four of the agreement. Internal and external employees of the City of Richmond, represented by the Union of Canadian Public Employees (CUPE), have signed a four-year agreement that runs from January 1, 2020 to December 31, 2023. “(These benefits) will strengthen the workforce, improve recruitment and engagement, and improve efficiency throughout our community,” said city spokesman Clay Adams. The agreement, which covers the period from January 1, 2020 to December 31, 2023, provides that unionized employees in the city will receive wage increases of 9.25 percent over four years — 2.00 percent in 2020; 2.25 per cent in 2021; and 2.50% in 2022 and 2023. Residents 718 and 394 cover Richmond municipal employees. While the two cupe residents voted and ratified the agreement in February, it will apply retroactively to the beginning of this year. It only takes place once a year, every June. The General Assembly will take place on the third Thursday in June. All meetings will begin at 5:15 p.m. in Meeting Room M.2.004, on the second floor of Richmond City Hall, unless otherwise noted.
